A Fairytale in the Highlands: Silvia and Nicks Cinematic Wedding Film at Drumtochty Castle
Drumtochty Castle Wedding Videographer
There is something undeniably magical about a Scottish castle wedding, but driving through the gates of Drumtochty Castle feels like stepping directly into a storybook. Hidden away in a wild, 350-acre woodland glen in Aberdeenshire, this 19th-century neo-gothic masterpiece was the breathtaking backdrop for Sarah and James’s wedding day—and capturing it on film was an absolute dream.
From the misty morning preparations to an energetic, late-night ceilidh, their day was the perfect blend of historic luxury and deeply personal romance. I am so excited to share their cinematic wedding film with you.

Cinematic Moments in the Wild Glen
After the ceremony, guests made their way back up to the castle lawns for drinks reception, accompanied by traditional Highland Coos.
While family and friends enjoyed custom canapés, we slipped away with the Bride and Groom into the ancient forestry and gardens for their portrait session. Drumtochty Estate offers endless visual depth for a cinematic film. We utilized our drone to capture sweeping, dramatic shots of the Caslteand use our Professional Camera Gimbal to capturre walking along the edge of the two-acre estate lake and crossing the picturesque wooden bridge, with the majestic castle towering in the background.
The way the afternoon light filtered through the Aberdeenshire trees created a soft, romantic glow that perfectly matched the couple's effortless energy.
Dining in the Grand Ballroom & Dancing Til Dawn
The reception took place in the heart of the castle: the magnificent Ballroom. With its ornate, towering ceilings, dramatic Neo-Gothic floor-to-ceiling windows, and massive statement fireplace, it is the epitome of Scottish grandeur.
The speeches brought a beautiful mix of roaring laughter and tear-jerking sentimentality—the absolute backbone of any great cinematic wedding film.
Because Drumtochty Castle is an exclusive-use venue with no curfew, the party went late into the night. The ballroom transitioned seamlessly into a massive dance floor, and the energy during the dancing was unmatched. I left the estate with full memory cards and huge smiles, knowing I had captured a legacy piece this family will watch for generations.
