SCOTTISH WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHER

I’ve been a wedding videographer in Edinburgh for 14 years.

Outdoorsy family man. F1 fan. Coffee drinker, cake addict. Mountain-bike lover (and lifetime crasher).

Drew Johnstone Filmmaker

I live a happy life in the Scottish Borders- with my amazing wife (second shooter, and family rock), Tracy, our son Jack, and our baby girl, Ellie.

We’re always out-and-about on adventures as a family. Kayaking on lochs, visiting friends, or wandering in the woods.

I’ve loved mountain-biking ever since I was little. But I’m more blacktop than black diamond nowadays (no more Red Bull medical helicopters for me!) Taking Jack for a ride in the forest, stopping at a hipster cafe for a “how much did you say?” coffee and cake.

I’m a massive F1 fan. Give me an empty sofa and a Grand Prix, or a good binge-watch of Drive to Survive!

But more than anything, I’m a family guy. Tracey, my kids, my home. That’s where I’m happiest.

And as your wedding videographer, those are the moments I’ll be drawn to most.

Give me dramatic mountains, florals and firepits, and I’m a happy little filmmaker. Give me a dad hugging his daughter, and I’m a mess behind the lens.

I’ve won multiple awards, and filmed weddings all over the world- from castles, to lochs, to crashing Icelandic waterfalls.

And I love it. Genuinely, absolutely. It’s a chance to be creative, artistic, and honest all at once. To capture moments that’ll fade into memory, and loved ones who won’t always be around.

You’re trusting me with this beautiful, personal, living breathing thing. And even now after 14 years, I still feel so incredibly grateful to do what I do.

If you love my work, I’d be buzzing to hear from you. Get in touch today for a chat, and let’s see if we hit it off.

Wedding videography in Edinburgh.

a bride who was doing her own makeup.

She was sitting by the window in a quiet room. Absorbed in her lipstick, her eyeliner. *Deep breath* nervous, as she brushed-back her hair.

So I grabbed a mic, and put it down next to her. Asked her about her fiancé, their life together, what she loved most about him.

It wasn’t forced, or rehearsed. It was just her. Smitten, there, then.

And as I’m telling your story, that’s how I’ll do it- with each moment captured carefully. Caught with purpose, and filmed the way it felt.

Sometimes it’s energy and movement, camera-flare and chaos. Sometimes it’s quiet, considered, and intimately still.

And when you watch your film back, you’ll feel the care I’ve poured into it. The way the story builds; how every moment draws you in. How it all blends together for the cuddle-up-and-watch-it whole.

Get comfy, press play, and you’re there.

We want this!

Maybe you want personal vows, first looks, and love letters. Maybe you just want to turn up and party.

Whatever your ‘dream day’ might be, that’s the day I want you to have.

So before it all kicks off, let’s get to know each other. We’ll chat about life, your plans, your favourite films. The vibe you’re after, the moments you cant wait to experience.

Because it doesn’t have to be this big, daunting thing. Let’s just have fun with it- throw some ideas around, and plan a celebration that’s yours

And when your day comes, it’ll feel easy. Comfortable. Familiar. Not a nervous handshake and a “nice to meet you”. But a “how was last night?!” and a hug hello.
